Migrating from Wordpress to Drupal

While I enjoy using Wordpress, I’ve been using Drupal more and more over the past couple of years. This is mainly because of the fact that we’re using it a lot at work these days.

Drupal has its quirks (as does any system), but overall I’ve found it to be an excellent platform, and I’ve therefore decided to move this blog to Drupal, in the process taking advantage of all the experience I’ve gained in theming Drupal sites, to give my blog a slight design refresh. I’m part way through the process at the moment.

The migration of the content has turned out to be the quick bit: thanks to the wordpress_import Drupal module, that took only a few minutes, barring a little tidying up of paragraphs. A bit more checking that everything is working as I want, and putting in place the finishing touches to the styling, and all will be ready. I’ll also then catch up on any comments which are posted during the switch-over period!
